Developing a safety and quality movement for the future - from theory to action
The safety and quality movement is now in its adolescent phase - with the development of theory and an evidence base of what is needed to provide safe effective person centred care. In this presentation, I will reflect on the past and look to the future and provide a practical way to go forward.
Hooker Visiting Professor
Dr. Peter Lachman is currently CEO of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, ISQua. In addition, he is the Lead International Faculty at RCPI in Dublin where he co-directs the Leadership and Quality Program to develop clinical leaders in QI. He is also the co-founder and Chairperson of the Paediatric International Patient Safety and Quality Community, PIPSQC. He completed a Health Foundation Quality Improvement Fellowship and developed the QI program at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Dr. Lachman was also a consultant paediatrician at the Royal Free Hospital in London specializing in children with chronic health conditions.
