RCPCH Annual Conference 2014 - Clinical Standards Sessions

PIPSQC is pleased to highlight the following Clinical Standards sessions taking place at the RCPCH Annual Conference this year:

Tuesday 8 April 2014:

Developing Quality Improvement ideas

This session/workshop will focus on developing quality improvement ideas and will feature a variety of quick-fire presentations as well as a talk on setting the standards for quality. 

Speaker:

·         Dr. Jonny Taitz, Director of Medical Services, Royal North Shore Hospital (Australia)

Improving care with changes in the NHS: Lessons from the Berwick Report

This session will reflect on the recommendations made by Don Berwick and provide practical ways to move forward in a positive way to improve care. In addition, a 30-minute Project Surgery session will be run, giving delegates a chance to discuss current and future improvement projects with the faculty.

Thursday 10 April 2014:

Delivering safe and reliable care: Essentials of patient safety

This session will introduce and demonstrate the theories of patient safety. Examples of common problems will be presented with solutions that can be spread across the UK.

·         Dr. Peter-Marc Fortune, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist/Associate Clinical Head, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital
