Who and What is PIPSQC
PIPSQC is an informal, international collaborative of professionals who share a passion for patient safety and quality in paediatrics, and who interact together across organizational and geographic boundaries, to advance learning and improvements in these areas.

This complex adaptive system emerged in 2006 as a result of a pre-symposium invitational gathering before SickKids’ Second Annual Paediatric Patient Safety Symposium. Those invited represented four countries on three continents. We recognized that our patient safety concerns were universal. The results of the roundtable discussion can be found in the
Paediatric Patient Safety International Collaborative document.
At dinner that night, the Paediatric International Patient Safety and Quality Collaborative was officially formalized and PIPSQC was born.

PIPSQC Minicourse Dec 5th at IHI 23rd Annual National Forum

Mon, 07 Nov 2011 08:00:00 GMT

Join us at the IHI Forum on December 5th for our Minicourse number M23 entitled "Making Health Care Safer for Children."

April 8, 2011, Amsterdam

Fri, 08 Apr 2011 08:00:00 GMT

We had 70 people at our symposium: ' Aiming for zero harm in paediatrics'.  Peter started with a welcome and promotion of PIPSQC. Approximately half the audience were MDs and the rest nurses and other healthcare professionals. Half the crowd were from stand alone paediatric hospitals, and half from general hospitals. Peter's talk focused on uniqueness of patient safety vulnerabilities in children and why we have an obligation to protect children in the healthcare system. The topic of the need for 24/7 coverage by consultant paediatricians resonated with many who are trying to make this case. Does it make sense that the best trained physicians go home when the sickest patients come in?

Hello from Amsterdam!!
