PIPSQC is pleased to share that the RCPCH will be hosting the upcoming one-day course, "Introduction to Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS)," set to take place June 22, 2017 in London, UK.

AUDIENCE:

This multi-disciplinary course is for health and social care professionals, including trainees, who work with children and young people. It is ideal for those who have limited or no experience of quality improvement (QI), but who are frustrated by problems and enthusiastic for change.

THE CHALLENGE:

We know that the health and social care systems in which we work are not always perfect. We are good at identifying problems and auditing practice, but often struggle to implement change and improvement. Many child health professionals are not, however, experienced in this area and can feel daunted. The RCPCH is committed to using quality improvement approaches to support efforts to rectify this situation.

THE SOLUTION:

This highly interactive one-day course will cover basic QI methodology and, we hope, provide opportunities for participants to meet other interested people and develop networks to support QI activity. We will also consider experiences of success and failure and examine how we can share good practice. By the end of the day we expect that participants will feel equipped and inspired to undertake QI projects in their place of work.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

- Identify an area for improvement in your day-to-day working
- Identify stakeholders and know how to engage them
- Use new knowledge, model behaviours and pursue activities associated with the Quality Improvement Model and PDSA cycle
- Know how to initiate and sustain your Quality Improvement project
- Start developing networks and sharing data
- Understand the roles of teams and the wider health context

COURSE FEES:

RCPCH members, trainees and allied health professionals: £75
Non-members: £100
**Course fees will be increasing from September so book now to take advantage of this excellent rate!**
